Clampett&#8217;s wild animation style mixed with Seuss&#8217;s wild imagination? What a combination! Since you no doubt know the story, I&#8217;m just going to have Boy read it out loud, while I make comments about the story as well as changes in the short. The book has much more black and white with a green sky. Speaking of the book, Clampett and his crew didn&#8217;t even use storyboards when making this short. They just scribbled notes in Clampett&#8217;s copy of the book. Perhaps their work on this is what inspired Seuss to help with Snafu?<\/p>\n<p>But really, is Mayzie so lazy that <em>sitting on her can, <\/em>is too much work? Because it&#8217;s Clampett, d*mn it! Nothing is too crazy for this man. And instead of Blanc, we have Kent Rogers who I&#8217;ve mentioned was also the voice for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wackyland2.com\/blog-1\/2016\/12\/13\/2016-12-13-the-bashful-buzzard\/\">&#8220;The Bashful Buzzard,&#8221;<\/a> Beaky. The somewhat slow and dopey voice suits Horton. It&#8217;s how I&#8217;ve always pictured him talking.<\/p>\n<p>T\u029c\u1d07 \u1d07\u029f\u1d07\u1d18\u029c\u1d00\u0274\u1d1b \u029f\u1d00\u1d1c\u0262\u029c\u1d07\u1d05. <em>&#8220;W\u029c\u028f, \u1d0f\ua730 \u1d00\u029f\u029f s\u026a\u029f\u029f\u028f \u1d1b\u029c\u026a\u0274\u0262s! Not much, but he doesn&#8217;t say he can&#8217;t in the short. And as for not having wings, I&#8217;m not sure that&#8217;s a valid argument. Ever look at the way Seuss draws elephant ears? They look an awful lot like what angels use to fly.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;V\u1d07\u0280\u028f \u1d21\u1d07\u029f\u029f,&#8221; s\u1d00\u026a\u1d05 \u1d1b\u029c\u1d07 \u1d07\u029f\u1d07\u1d18\u029c\u1d00\u0274\u1d1b, &#8220;s\u026a\u0274\u1d04\u1d07 \u028f\u1d0f\u1d1c \u026a\u0274s\u026as\u1d1b&#8230;.<br \/>\nY\u1d0f\u1d1c \u1d21\u1d00\u0274\u1d1b \u1d00 \u1d20\u1d00\u1d04\u1d00\u1d1b\u026a\u1d0f\u0274. Many birds stay together to raise it, but the male must be worst than Mayzie. She at least bothered to make sure the egg wouldn&#8217;t die without her. Unless he was the better parent, and just happened to be eaten by the cat in the hat.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;H-\u1d0d-\u1d0d-\u1d0d&#8230; \u1d1b\u029c\u1d07 \ua730\u026a\u0280s\u1d1b \u1d1b\u029c\u026a\u0274\u0262 \u1d1b\u1d0f \u1d05\u1d0f,&#8221; \u1d0d\u1d1c\u0280\u1d0d\u1d1c\u0280\u1d07\u1d05 H\u1d0f\u0280\u1d1b\u1d0f\u0274, &#8220;L\u1d07\u1d1b&#8217;s s\u1d07\u1d07&#8230;. I \u1d0d\u1d1cs\u1d1b \u1d21\u1d07\u026a\u0262\u029c \u1d00 \u1d1b\u1d0f\u0274.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I like the fact that Seuss decided to explain how the tree won&#8217;t snap under an elephant&#8217;s weight, but not explaining how the elephant wasn&#8217;t crushing the egg? That wasn&#8217;t as important. This part gets no mention in the short. The tree just gets propped without explanation. And Horton only weighs about a ton? How old is he? Judging by the lack of tusks, he must be pretty young, but I always figured he was full grown. If he is, he is way malnourished!<\/p>\n<p>T\u029c\u1d07\u0274 \u1d04\u1d00\u0280\u1d07\ua730\u1d1c\u029f\u029f\u028f, \u1d1b\u1d07\u0274\u1d05\u1d07\u0280\u029f\u028f, \u0262\u1d07\u0274\u1d1b\u029f\u028f \u029c\u1d07 \u1d04\u0280\u1d07\u1d18\u1d1b \u1d1c\u1d18 \u1d1b\u029c\u1d07 \u1d1b\u0280\u1d1c\u0274\u1d0b \u1d1b\u1d0f \u1d1b\u029c\u1d07 \u0274\u1d07s\u1d1b \u1d21\u029c\u1d07\u0280\u1d07 \u1d1b\u029c\u1d07 \u029f\u026a\u1d1b\u1d1b\u029f\u1d07 \u1d07\u0262\u0262 s\u029f\u1d07\u1d18\u1d1b.<\/p>\n<p>As far as I know, unhatched chicks don&#8217;t wake in their eggs. So, yes. You&#8217;re not exactly small enough to hide under much. And are you really that cold? I figured you were in a jungle of some sort. The short has some fun with this scene. The whole place floods and only the tip of his trunk shows. She only left earlier in the day. And for those of you who have the book, look at this page. Why is that one guy staring at her? Has he never seen a bird before?
