Gift Wrapped

“Oh goody goody! Thantny Clauth came for real!”

It’s Christmas morning and Sylvester is excited to see all the presents. (Some of which never get opened) He is disappointed to find one for him contains a rubber mouse instead of a real one. Granny’s gift is much more interesting a (canary) Tweety bird. He switches the tags and once Granny gets wise she has to force Sylvester to spit the bird out. (Sylvester has eaten Tweety a few times, he just never can keep him down)

As soon as she leaves, he goes after the bird again, still claiming he’s his present. Tweety tells him that a bigger one is for him and he opens it to find a bulldog who eats him instead. Granny comes to the rescue again. Sylvester uses a toy crane but only catches Granny, and when he reverses Tweety’s toy train so that it leads into his mouth, the dog eats him again. Granny saves all the animals and stamps their mouths shut. Christmas carols are then sung by all!

Tweet Tweet Tweety

“I dotta tink of a way to get that putty offa me.”

At a national park, Syvlester is ecstatic to find there are plenty of birds here. (Despite the game warden telling him not to do what he’s thinking about.) He finds a nest that’s empty, save for an egg (we never find out about the mother.) He decides to hatch it and eat the contents.

While he keeps it warm, Tweety is born. (Yesth, Tweety. I am your fathsther.) He pokes the putty tat with a pin to get him off, and proceeds to hide in a tree. Sylvester uses a bike pump to pump him out, but gets a firecracker and then Tweety saws off the limb he’s standing on. After a brief song, Tweety is having his picture taken. (Stupid people. He’s a canary, hes not rare) one gets really close and of course it turns out to be Sylvester, who grabs him in his mouth. Only now does the ranger finally appear to save Tweety.

The chase continues into old faithful where Sylvester changes the clock so it won’t erupt. (Is that the right word for a geyser?) Tweety changes the time back, and he gets drenched. Tweety hops on a log and floats down the river with Sylvester following in a boat. He accidentally goes over the falls and Tweety turns off the water, just as he rows back up.

Room and Bird

“Thomas Jefferson? Hes not the president no more, he’s dead.”

Sorry for the lack of videos. I can’t seem to find any worthy enough of getting a place on my blog of awesome.

This cartoon starts with a view of a hotel. Despite the fact that animals are not allowed inside, Tweety ans Sylvester are both snuck in by their owners: Granny and Not Granny. As luck would have it, their rooms are right next to each other and Sylvester overhears Tweety singing his trademark song. The chase is on but they have to worry about some man, (I assume he works at the hotel) who is on the look out for possible animals.

They have many close calls, but in the end, the man is sure that there are animals in the building, (although he has no proof) and demands, over the intercom, that whoever has them, to remove them. Just as he says this, he is caught in a stampede of animals.

All Abir-r-r-d

“Bye-bye, mommy’s precious little darling!”

Some woman (definitely not Granny) is putting Tweety on a train. (He seems happy to get away from her.) I don’t know why he does it, but the conductor stupidly puts the cage down by a cat carrier. Well, the conductor is not such an idiot, as he was keeping his eye on Sylvester and puts Tweety up higher. Sylvester tries a tower of luggage, but Tweety pulls the emergency brake, and the force causes the puttytat to fly into the engine.

Also on the train is a bulldog, who Sylvester hits and tells to shut up. The train goes up a hill and Sylvester slides into the dogs fist. He thinks he’s safe once it starts to level out, but then it goes down the hill and the dog punches him again. Sylvester tries the luggage trick again, this time cutting the brake chord. Tweety pulls it anyway, and it still works.

Sylvester hides Tweety in a mail sack to keep him hidden from the conductor, but when he reaches to obtain his prize, he gets the dog. Finally the train pulls into a station and Sylvester eagerly awaits the bird disguised as a woman. He gets the cage and runs to a taxi so he can eat in peace. When he opens the cage however, he gets the dog again!

A Bear for Punishment

“I hate breakfast in bed!”

I know. I should have talked about a Mother’s day cartoon, but i couldn’t find one. Father’s day works fine. This cartoon was based on Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese’s fathers days they experienced. (That’s harsh)

One morning, Henry Bear wakes up to many alarm clocks. He learns that its fathers day and his family wants to treat him right. Junyer spills breakfast on him, and tries to shave him with a broken razor. He can’t even fill his dad’s pipe without an injury. (“g-u-n-p-o-w-d-e-r, deh, tobacco”)

Finally, they perform a show. Junyer recites a poem about how he loves his father, Ma does a dance, and as a finale they dress up Henry as the stature of liberty and launch fireworks. He is too shocked to protest. (And thus the 3 bears cartoons ended)

Cheese Chasers

“There’s nothing left to live for!”

It’s Hubie and Bertie’s last cartoon! To commemorate, they decide to eat and eat and eat and eat and eat and eat all the cheese they can! After eating (possibly literally) tons of the stuff, they feel they can never stomach it again. (I hate when this happens to me) Figuring that suicide is the only answer, they climb into Claude’s mouth.

Claude is suspicious as to why natural prey of his would want to die. He tries to bribe them into leaving him be with cheese but he just freaks out more when they refuse to eat it. With the rodents acting so strange, Claude figures he can never enjoy mice again. He decides to end it all at the hands of a bulldog. (Marc Antony making his FIRST appearance) The dog wonders why Claude wants to die, and freaks out even more when the mice want the same thing. In the end, the dog chases a dog catcher’s van… with Claude and the mice in hot pursuit.

Whoa, be-gone!

“one (1) giant rubber band (for tripping road-runners)”

For once, the coyote is not chasing the bird on foot during the opening credits. Instead, he is riding a rocket after the mouth watering morsel. Coming up to a tunnel, he hits his head as the rocket keeps chasing the bird. It turns around and comes back, and the coyote just barely dodges it. (He gets hit by a truck, instead.)

In the following gags, he falls off a cliff not once but thrice! He decides to erect a trampoline to catch him just in case it happens again. (He falls right through it) One more gag deserves mention, he tries to roll down a wire using a wheeled helmet, but the wire snaps and he falls. The ends of the wire land on him and a telephone wire. He purchases some tornado seeds but the squirt gun he is using leaks and a tornado carries him away into an abandoned mine field.

“More free bird seed”

During another one of their never ending chases, the Roadrunner leaves an awful lot of smoke in his wake. So obviously, the coyote does not notice the ground has run out and he falls. He climbs up again, and as soon as he makes it, the bird startles him into falling again. Then as he walks away, it comes up behind, scares him again, and he jumps into a rock.

Following some book instructions, he prepares a hole with a jackhammer. It is very powerful, and he keeps feeling aftershock. He uses this to his advantage and destroys the book this way. After building a brick wall (and experiencing another shake) he is shocked to see another coyote’s rear on the other side. It copies everything he does, so he rolls some TNT at it, only to find out that it’s still him. (Gotta love cartoon logic)

More gags ensure, (including one with angry bees) and he ultimately fires a harpoon gun that also is wound around his leg and he gets launched. After a wild ride, he’s bruised and whimpering near a cliffs edge. The Roadrunner appears, but doesn’t scare him this time. He lets us know that he hasn’t the heart.

Scrambled Aches

“Dehydrated Boulders”

Sorry for not updating, even though I had plenty of time. Spring cleaning was brutal. Anyways, sit back and enjoy our latest Wile E. Coyote cartoon post.

While chasing the Roadrunner for the umpteenth time, (and falling off a cliff) the coyote uses a fake leg that he aims to trip the bird with. The bird runs by so fast it twists, and when the coyote sets it down, he twists. Continuing on with his clever contraptions that he builds; he makes one with a sail, roller skates, and a fan. He can’t steer it apparently since he goes through a lake and off a cliff.

Now up high, he throws an anvil. The bird stops short and the anvil keeps falling and lands on some telephone wires and back up. (Don’t worry. It does not hurt the coyote, it just severs the cliff he’s on.) He sets up a miniature steamroller and it chases the bird. It takes a detour to avoid the roller, and ends up in a cannon. After it fails to ignite, Wile E. looks inside to see what looks like a train. Figuring its just one of the birds pranks, he keeps looking only to get hit by a cannonball, with the bird on top. As he walks away fuming, the steamroller appears. Before he’s clobbered he lets us know it’s the end.

There they go-go-go

“?”

Wile E. Coyote is preparing a delicious feast: a turkey made of mud. After it cooks, he finds he can not eat it and proceeds to toss it into a mud trash can. Cue object of desire. Lunging with a spear (crashes into road) and using a pop-out gun (comes out too far, thus shooting him) are both nothing new. Then he makes some really cool mace copter! That lands on him.

He deploys a ladder for use as a bridge, but cuts it partly so it will break. When he sees the Roadrunner above him, he grabs the ladder and prepares to climb, only for it to snap in half. Eventually he sets up a trap where various boulders will be emptied onto the bird, but they are packed in too tightly. He pokes them with a stick before he realizes what he’s doing. CRASH!
